Top secret but I’m a closeted football fan. It’s a take away from being married to a “beer and pizza dude” the last three years. I actually sometimes miss football in the background on Sunday afternoons. (A problem that I could obviously fix if I actually bought a TV but it’s low on my priority list – maybe next season.)
Day 3 of Embracing My Awesome was spent cooking with family and superbowling it up. There are fewer joys to me than spending an entire day cooking delicious food. Such a meditative delight in creating deliciousness from the heart! This ain’t your mama’s superbowl party – it was super healthy which was pretty exciting and I don’t feel nasty afterwards = yay!
The star of the show was a “very full roasted vegetable tart” from this cookbook: completely amazeballs. It is a 2 hour long process that fills your entire house with the smell of roasted vegetables and the bottom of the tart is covered in a thick layer of caramelized onions = love.
In some traditions it is said that how you feed yourself is how you feed your spirit and I could not agree more. You going to nourish your fiiiine self with McDonald’s all day or some super alive chi-filled veggies?
Oh, and goooo Baltimore! I’m glad that one of my favorite underdog east coast cities worked it out. I will spend the week watching John Waters’ movies to celebrate.
